#MemberCrushMonday: John & Dani Cawthron
The first #MemberCrushMonday of February features one of our newest COUPLES, John & Dani Cawthron!
Here is their story:
"John and I have been members at Chuckwalla since early December. Even though we’d driven by the Chuckwalla sign countless times, it didn’t occur to us to check it out until October 2017. While playing with my boys at Royal Palm Park, I saw Roseann Dennery. Our youngest kids are in the same preschool class, so we started chatting. She told me Chuckwalla was there celebrating their two year anniversary and encouraged me to check it out. My membership at another gym was ending at the end of November, so on December 2nd John and I popped into Chuckwalla for our first class and have been coming ever since!
A little about us. John and I met over spring break of my senior year in high school and started dating before I started my freshman year at the University of Arizona. There, John earned a BS in Architecture and I earned a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics and an M.Ed. in Teaching and Teacher Education. John is currently an architectural designer for his family owned firm, Cawthron Architects, that specializes in high end residential. I work as a curriculum developer at Grand Canyon University, where I mainly write courses for the early childhood education program. I hope to start nursing school later this year with the ultimate goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. We have two little boys, Leo (3) and Beau (2), who love coming to the gym with us. We’re thrilled that Chuckwalla so happily welcomes them and look forward to the day they can join us in the workouts.
Prior to joining the Chuckwalla family, we had not been exercising regularly. With our work schedules and difficulty finding childcare, we had only intermittently visited the gym since our first son was born. We figured that during this season of our lives with little kids, exercise would have to be less of a priority. We wish we had found Chuckwalla sooner. We love how our entire family gets to be members of this community. We can see and feel ourselves getting stronger every day, and we are constantly amazed at what we are able to accomplish through the skillful training and encouragement we have found here at Chuckwalla. We look forward to becoming better, stronger versions of ourselves and can't wait for our boys to do the same!"
