This weeks #MemberCrushMonday, Lucy Siegel, could be your new best friend!! Let's get to know one of our newer members at Chuckwalla CrossFit.
"Hi everyone! I'm Lucy and I'm new to Chuckwalla. I've been doing CrossFit for 4 years now - holy smokes! No, I haven't made it to the Games yet, but maybe one day! Just kidding. I could never.
A little about me: I'm originally from Mandeville, LA, which is a suburb of New Orleans. After grad school at Auburn (WAR EAGLE!) I moved to Atlanta, GA for a few years and then I moved to Phoenix last year. I moved here for a boy. He promised me a corgi, I couldn't say no! A couple months later I got my corgi and I decided to keep Billy around.
I couldn't find a gym that I liked when I first moved here so I quit CrossFit, which was a very difficult decision for me. I am thankful to have found Chuckwalla and enjoyed my first month so much that I decided to stick around.
One thing that might surprise you about me, after you meet me, is that I'm a CPA. (No, I can't do your taxes. I can barely do my own). I would categorize myself as pretty outgoing and social. I'm especially social when it comes to talking about my corgi, Douglas! I'm also especially passionate about pizza. Is there a more perfect food? The answer is no. Every Monday or Tuesday, you can find Billy and me at Federal Pizza. $20 for a pizza and a bottle of wine - HELLO! I also love to cook and love a new cooking challenge. The last couple years I've gotten really into nutrition, macros, etc., and find it all very fascinating. Although, I will never give up my beloved pizza.
I originally started CrossFit with a couple of friends when we were studying and sitting for our CPA exams. Honestly, I didn't want to get fat and I had no idea how much I would grow to enjoy CrossFit, as I am the complete opposite of athletic. 4 1/2 years later, here we are! My favorite lift is a toss-up between a full snatch and a full clean. I much prefer squats in lifts than from the rack. My favorite workout would probably be DT; it's so spicy. I could live the rest of my life without doing another med ball clean and it still wouldn't be long enough.
If you want to follow along with my sweet Douglas, his instagram is @douglas.the.corgi and mine is @lucyysiegel. I'm hoping to turn Douglas into a social media sensation so I can quit my job. I also don't have very many friends here, so feel free to say hey!"
