This week we have a big #MemberCrushMonday on Joe Harrison!
Here is his story:
"I grew up in Mississippi and was never very good at sports although my parents tried everything from swimming, tennis, t-ball, soccer, and track. During high school, I stopped sports and focused on a more theatrical approach to life. I joined the drama club and choir. I really found my spot and really enjoyed this time of my life.
After graduating college, I decided to go to Physician Assistant school and moved to Arizona where I attended A.T. Still University and graduated in 2004. I have been practicing as Physician Assistant mainly in the Emergency Department ever since.
In 2011, I met Scott through mutual friends and we married in 2014. In 2016 we adopted our beautiful daughter.
I started running in 2010 when I realized how horrible my health was. I found enjoyment in running and eventually found myself doing a couple of 1/2 Marathons although I realized I really loved a good 10K. I would never say that I'm a quick runner but there is something Zen about running outside and I feel that that is my happy place.
My husband, Scott, decided to join Crossfit in January to see how he liked it and I decided I would try it too. I have to say that I am learning a lot and it's been fun so far. It's challenging and something I never thought I could do. The community at Chuckwalla has been awesome and I love the camaraderie. I have found myself being pushed more than ever before and realized that I am my own worst enemy and have to push myself to trust that I am strong enough."
