#MemberCrushMonday: Danny Bradley

Danny joined our gym back in July with our 30-Day Challenge. He lost 18 lbs and 2% body fat and promptly joined the Bod Squad Challenge for another 30 days, losing an additional 5.8 lbs and 1% body fat!! He has not joined a weight loss program, but rather a weight loss lifestyle.

Here is his story:

What do you do outside of CrossFit?

For the past 15 years I was a Chef which consumed most of my life. Back in October I quit and took some time off to focus on my family. I currently bar-tend a few days a week and spend most my days with my daughter.

What is something about you that would surprise us?

I play Bass guitar in a local punk band. I’ve been playing music since I was a kid and it’s been a huge part of my life.

What do you enjoy?

I’ve always enjoyed cooking for my family and friends. As of lately I’ve taken on a healthier life style and have been using my chef training to explore new recipes.

Why do you CrossFit?

I drove by the Chuckwalla sign for about a year. I finally woke up one day and realized I needed to change.

I have problems staying focused at a regular gym. There’s nothing there that drives me or makes me want to work harder. I played Ice Hockey and Rugby for years and need to have that feeling of a team. Since joining Chuckwalla I feel like I found a team. I love the camaraderie and encouragement with CrossFit.

What is your favorite CrossFit lift/workout?

Deadlifts!!! are my favorite. It’s fun to see how much you can lift. My goal is to do a muscle up one day but for now I can do a ton of ring rows.
