#MemberCrushMonday: Becca Knauer

Here is her story:

What do you do outside of CrossFit?

I’m a 911 Operator/Police Dispatcher, Police wife, and mama to a 14 month old - Olivia. I was lucky enough to drop to part time when my daughter was born, so my days consist of baby laughs, cleaning up crumbs, and hanging out at the splash pad.

What is something about you that would surprise us?

I play seven different musical instruments; but don’t ask me to sing!

What do you enjoy?

I love being outside! Just not so much in the valley heat. During the hot months, I like to hibernate at Target with an iced coffee. Hiking, camping, and off-roading are some of our favorite things to do. Now that my daughter is in full on toddler mode, it’s been super fun introducing her to the activities we love.

Why do you CrossFit?

I started coming to Chuckwalla back in April for Lauren’s “Stong After Baby” program. I was super frustrated with my post-partum body after a traumatic delivery and difficult recovery. I thought I would never be able to work out like I did pre-baby. Towards the end of the program we started doing the CrossFit WODs and I was SO surprised I could complete them!

I do CrossFit to feel empowered and challenged both physically and mentally... but also because I really like dessert.

What is your favorite CrossFit lift/workout?

I don’t have a favorite workout yet, but I love anything with the barbell.
