This week we are following up with an older member and previous Member Crush, Megan Floyd. Here is what she has to say about her time at Chuckwalla since she first started:

How long have you been at Chuckwalla CrossFit?

Almost 2 years!

What got you started and why do you keep showing up?

I was invited to the gym by some friends who were already members and fell in love with this gym after my first week. After just a few more weeks I was doing things I would have never believed I was actually capable of prior. This is one of the most empowering things I've ever done for myself.

What makes you choose this kind of gym over other gym franchises or other forms of fitness?

CrossFit, especially here, has been the first form of exercise that actually makes me feel healthy- like a whole human. Where as at other gyms full of mirrors, butts and guts classes, ect. left me constantly striving and believing a lie of comparison, CrossFit at Chuckwalla has empowered me to live beyond image and feel truly strong.

How has Chuckwalla CrossFit impacted your life?

Chuckwalla CrossFit has impacted my life for the same reasons said above, as well as being a source of therapy for me. It reconnects my mind with my body and forces me to be in community as I work out with others who are here for a common goal.

How do you apply what happens inside the gym to everyday life outside of our box?

For me, CrossFit here is a great and tangible example of the reward that comes with pressing into pain and doing hard things. It empowers me to do the even harder things that happen outside of the gym.
