This week we are following up with someone who has been at Chuckwalla from the very beginning, Ashley Hazdovac! Here is what she has to say about her time at Chuckwalla since she first started:
How long have you been at Chuckwalla CrossFit?
I’ve been part of Chuckwalla CrossFit from the VERY beginning when it was just a dream John and I would discuss. We truly thought it would be amazing to own a fitness facility where everyone would feel welcome. Since we knew it would be like a second home for us (we are both honestly there almost everyday) we wanted the community to thrive and feel like family. I pushed for us to have the childcare area,with a caring supervised adult, so that parents could workout and have their kids safe and nearby.
What got you started and why do you keep showing up?
Honestly, CrossFit was not my first choice fitness wise until recently. I’m typically drawn to workouts with music and choreography since I grew up dancing. Now, I get so excited to lift weights and try my best even when workouts look crazy difficult.
How has Chuckwalla CrossFit impacted your life?
CrossFit, especially Chuckwalla, has shown me that doing and accomplishing hard things is better together. I’m thrilled when I see one of our members reach a goal they’ve been striving for. I really feel encouraged when I’m trying my hardest and people cheer me on.
How do you apply what happens inside the gym to everyday life outside of our box?
This current season I’m walking through is challenging(we have twins that are 2 and two older kiddos), but if I apply my mental strength in a WOD to my life, I know I can make it through one round at a time.
