#MemberCrushMonday: Dana Stanford
Here is her story:
What do you do outside of CrossFit?
I own my business Your Healthy Mindset by Dana and I help people with nutrition, fitness and health coaching. I am also a Pediatric Oncology Nurse at Phoenix Children's Hospital and dog-mom to our 2 rescue dogs- Gracie and Griffin.
What is something about you that would surprise us?
I am a veteran of both the United States Air Force (enlisted) and US Navy as a Navy Nurse. I spent 10 years in the military and joined right out of high school at 17. I have lived in 2 foreign countries - South Korea and Costa Rica.
What do you enjoy?
I enjoy being outside, being active and traveling ~ especially with Eric and our two pups.. I am also an avid sports fan, particularly college football and baseball (even though my alma mater doesn't have a football team)!
Why do you CrossFit?
Eric got me started in Crossfit in 2012 when we met. I dabbled in it a little bit while we lived in LA. Since being in Arizona, Eric again encouraged participation again, and I'm so glad I did! I truly enjoy the community of Chuckwalla, the daily challenge of CrossFit, and getting better at weightlifting.
What is your favorite lift/workout?
Dead lifts and pull-ups. There was a time where I didn’t have the confidence in my ability or the upper arm strength to complete these movements. These are my favorite now. I love the opportunity to work on them and get stronger.
