Get to know Nick!


What do you do with your time, for work, play, etc?

I love to spend time with my family, especially with my kids. My kids are my life essentially because they are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have 2 boys ages 9 and 6. I enjoy teaching them new things and helping them build on the skills they already possess. Skills such as how to fish, how to be patient, how to be kind, how to throw a football properly and how to catch them and anything pretty much sports related. I taught my oldest son how to play chess at age 6 and he has already developed into quite the chess player. I currently work from home as a Supply Chain Planner for a manufacturing company. My hobbies include golfing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, drumming, and getting down on some Madden on the Xbox. I am from Page, AZ and enjoyed having Lake Powell in my backyard so to speak for the duration of my childhood.


What is something about you that would surprise us?

I am left handed, however, I eat and write with my right hand and also kick with my right leg. I used to weigh over 315lbs, but currently weigh just a bit over 240lbs. I lost the weight doing beachbody workouts and being educated about food (balance, substituting, and proportions).

Why do you choose to workout at Chuckwalla? 

I chose to workout at Chuckwalla because from day 1 I was able to recognize that the community aspect, the energy, the environment, and the size of the gym was exactly what I was looking for. I have since met some amazing people and thoroughly appreciate the help/guidance I receive from Coach Lauren and Coach John. There are many gyms in the valley, however, Chuckwalla is just a great overall fit for me.

How does Chuckwalla help you be strong for life?

There are plenty of life lessons that can be learned from working out at Chuckwalla such as discipline, commitment, and persevering. My biggest takeaway from working out at Chuckwalla is preserving, being able to push through and keep going when you don't think you can. You can apply that to any aspect of life in general.

What is your favorite lift/workout?

My favorite lifts are deadlifts and back squats. My favorite workouts include DU's, box jumps, wallballs, ball slams, and DB snatches.
