ALL EQUIPMENT needs to be returned between Monday 5/11 and Wednesday 5/13/20. (We update you on a schedule for this soon)

We are waiting for the official word from Governor Ducey, but based on his press conference on 5/4/20 and his order to open dine-in restaurants, retail, and barber/salons, we feel confident that gyms will be part of his re-opening on May 15. That being said, we also believe it is time to use our voice and reach out to him and his office to ask that small gyms be considered as part of the re-opening process. Small gyms are more than capable of following CDC guidelines to re-open and should not be lumped together with large globo gyms, whose operations are very different from ours.
And you can also call (602-542-4331) or email the Governor’s office if you want to add your voice as well. CHILDCARE--
We know families may need childcare at the gym even more so than before, with kids being home from school and many other childcare centers closed, and so we want to continue to offer childcare as well as continue to be safe and responsible with the children who enter our gym. We will be increasing the schedule & staffing as needed, but first and foremost we will have a strict “sick policy.”
We will require sick children and staff to stay home.
Persons who have a fever of 100.40 (38.00C) or above or other signs of illness will not be admitted to the facility. Parents should be on the alert for signs of illness in their children and keep them home when they are sick.
Staff needs to be vigilant for symptoms and needs to stay in touch with facility management if or when they start to feel sick.
Children and staff who come to the child care center sick or become sick while at your facility are sent home as soon as possible.
We also update our childcare area annually which includes a thorough deep cleaning, so that will be done prior to re-opening.
Thank you for your cooperation in these matters!
CHUCKWALLA CROSSFIT’S RESPONSIBILITIES--
We will continue to adhere to government and CDC guidelines for business operations in response to COVID-19. These responsibilities will include:
Our staff/coaches will adhere to the same everyday preventative actions (such as frequent hand washing, physical distancing, and monitoring for symptoms) that we are asking the members to adhere to
Increased cleaning & disinfecting:
All equipment & surfaces touched by athletes during the class will be sanitized (by athletes & coaches) prior to the next class
All frequently touched areas will be sanitized after each class
The gym floor will be sanitized daily
We will adhere to physical distancing guidelines as they are updated. At this point, we know that includes maintaining a physical distance of 6ft
We will refrain from hugs, high-fives & fist bumps
We will limit the Wodify kiosk (check-in & WOD scores) to coach use only. (Athletes can use their apps)
We will update you if there are additional guidelines that would include class size restrictions
Additionally, we will continue to offer Chuckwalla Anywhere programming for those that want to continue some remote classes during this time. (We do need the equipment returned, so these workouts will be designed with a "no equipment" option as well.) We are also going to introduce a “lock-box” system to allow gym access during off-hours, especially for those who want to minimize their exposure to other people.
We look forward to seeing you back in the gym soon! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
